Final design Theater Emmen established

November 11th, 2013

The mayor and aldermen in Emmen have established the final design for the new theater. The 'Theater/Wereld van Ontmoeting' is roughly as big as a football field and its highest point measures more than 30 meters.

Distinguishing features of the design are the undulating green roof and the transparent façade.

Theater/Wereld van Ontmoeting is designed by Henning Larsen Architects and Van den Berg Group and will house a large auditorium (800 seats) and a small hall (300 seats).

Construction of the theater will start in 2014, completion is scheduled for early 2016.
