NU.VU: a new university building for the VU

August 14th, 2013

VU University Amsterdam is developing a new university building: NU.VU. This educational building for 4600 students and about a thousand academics and it will cover an area of 31,000 m2.

Besides the educational rooms the building will host several public facilities for conference, film, theater and catering. The lecture rooms will be used both for college and also as film theaters.

The design of NU.VU is by Jeroen van Schooten from Team V Architectuur (formerly Meyer & Van Schooten Architects). Theateradvies is consultant for the design of the lecture rooms and investigates how they can be used multifunctionally.

In addition, we optimize the theater venue and we check if the required technical areas, the artists facilities and facilities for the public are available and up to standard.

The new university building will open at the start of the academic year 2017.
