Art centre Islemunda almost completed

The Rotterdam district IJsselmonde will get a new cultural accommodation Islemunda. Islemunda will house a 120 seat theatre and various studios, one of which is Studio 5 for the local theatre group Wijktheater Rotterdam. This studio will be fitted with bleachers and professional light and sound.
Furthermore there will be more dance and music studios and an art cinema.

The building was completed on 16 October. In a very short time, building contractor Van Weijnen has transformed a bare concrete body into a beautiful arts centre. Yet another impressive arts building by architects TenBrasWestinga.

Light, sound and upholstery is installed in the coming weeks and will be finished by the end of 2013.
