In the heart of the Frisian city of Leeuwarden a new pop center will be built. The municipality of Leeuwarden has selected a design team, led by Architects DP6 architectuurstudio to design this unique complex. Theateradvies is part of that team.
The building at the Mata Hari Square opposite the Stadschouwburg Harmonie, houses a pop venue for 650 visitors, a multipurpose hall for 300 visitors, a café with a stage for another 200 visitors, several practice rooms for dance and pop music and classrooms.
Both Poppodium Romein and the stage academy of the Friesland College called D'Drive will be housed in this building. D'Drive leads secundary highschool students to become performing artists or professional stage technicians. Poppodium Romein programs national and international stage acts. By working closely together, these two organizations will form a unique platform for young talent and professionals.
Theateradvies designed the stage equipment and also the infrastructure to make the cooperation between the two organizations physically possible. The planned opening coincides with the start of the school year 2015/2016.
