Theateradvies wins contract with the Flemish Opera in Antwerp

July 29th, 2013

On 18 October 1907 the Flemish Opera in Antwerp opened. The auditorium has 1081 seats. The public immediately loved the neo-baroque building decorated in Louis XVI style. Who enters the opera, immediately gets a special feeling. The imposing building with its old decorations and grand staircases and columns make you feel in other times of red carpets and sumptuous luxury.

At the opening the opera was technically very modern because it made full use of the new electric light. In 2004, the opera was closed for the first time for a major renovation that would last three years. The technique was modernized, the stage was extended with a side stage and there came a new building for offices and workspaces.

The power flying system of the Opera in Antwerp no longer meets the requirements of these times. Particularly in the areas of usability, reliability and safety, the installation must be upgraded. Decisive for the choice of Theateradvies as theatre consultant was the great experience of Theateradvies with renovating such installations. In the period 2001 - 2013

Theateradvies designed more than 100 power flying installations. The renovation will take place in the summer of 2014.
