Construction of the OCC in The Hague has begun
March 12th, 2017
The consortium Cadanz (Boele & van Eesteren | Visser & Smit Bouw) won the tender for developing the area Spuikwartier in the summer of 2015. Theateradvies is part of the team that worked in recent months towards an integrated plan for a new educational and cultural complex (Onderwijs- en Cultuurcomplex) in The Hague.
The Hague Philharmonic, the NDT (Dutch Dance Theatre), the DMC (Dance and Music Foundation) and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague are jointly housed in the complex which will also have a concert hall, a theatre, an ensemble hall and rehearsal spaces.
The OCC will be built on the location where the Ministry of Justice once stood. The demolition of this building was completed last November. Presently, the construction site is being organized and the first piles will be driven into the ground in June of this year. The completion of the OCC is planned for June 2020.
More information can be found on the Hague’s municipal website.
