Gerbrand Borgdorff received an MA (with Merit) in Theatre Consultancy

February 23rd, 2017

The University of Warwick in England, in collaboration with the Institute of Theatre Consultants, set-up an academic programme aimed at practising theatre consultants and professionals in 2010, and is until now, the only university in the world with this study. Gerbrand Borgdorff, partner of Theateradvies bv, is a recent graduate and is the first theatre consultant in the Netherlands with the MA Theatre Consultancy title.

An academic approach provides a theoretical perspective on the activities of the theatre consultant and is a good addition to years of experience, but cannot serve as a substitute to working on stage which transforms people into "theatre people". A good consultancy thrives on the knowledge and experience of theatre people, but is also enriched by academic study.

This academic pursuit was a great opportunity for Gerbrand, personally, to share ideas, and knowledge with fellow students from all over Europe. Theateradvies is proud to be leading in this area.
