Proscenium theatre and black box in one
The auditorium in Theater aan de Slinger can be used as a black box and also as a proscenium theatre. The first rows of seating are lower than the stage level and can be covered and brought to stage level through the use of a ‘lid’. The stage area is 2,8m larger when these seating rows are not in use. The telescopic seating is curved, making the space even more intimate. Besides professional theatre programming, Theater de Slinger is also used by amateur clubs and is used regularly for film projection. In the floors above the theatre, a music school and a high school make use of the music rooms and spaces for art and cultural education.
