Modern fly tower for historic auditorium
The second phase of an ongoing project, the renovation and expansion of the Teatro de Cristóbal Colón in Bogotá, Colombia’s national theatre, consisted of a complete new fly tower and an automated rigging system. This improvement has brought this theater from 1892 well into the 21st century in terms of technology and safety. Despite the space constraint, a much larger effective stage was made possible by an efficient and coordinated design and larger side and back stages. The new fly tower complimented Phase 1 in which the Italian style historic theatre was renovated. Theateradvies is also involved in the design of Phase 3 which consisted of two new modern venues to compliment the old auditorium.
