“Buildings in which everyone feels welcome”
Theatre is about stepping away from everyday life and sharing an experience together. That can’t be compared to an evening of television. Hero Kaspers has known this ever since he first visited the local theatre as a student: he was allowed to watch the performance if he helped with the setup. ‘I enjoy working as part of a team: switching smoothly between different disciplines and finding the best solutions together.’
Hero's approach:
Spontaneous and direct. Identifying and analysing questions and bottlenecks. Checking and reflecting: are we still on the same page? Not missing any opportunities. So looking broadly, including ‘outside the box’; is everything on the table?
Hero's background:
As a student in Harderwijk, rolled into the theatre world through school performances/activities * Studied Theatre Technology at the University of the Arts * Lighting, sound, and video technology for performances, events, and tours (including MC Theater, Acda en De Munnik, Stage Entertainment Netherlands, Dance Festivals, Paul de Leeuw) * Stage supervisor, ITA * Hockey, drums & percussion, sailing, diving.
“I have extensive experience as a freelancer in the performing arts world, so I know from personal experience how wonderful it is to walk into a place where you feel welcome and can ‘do your thing.’ Whether you’re a visitor, an employee, or an artist. As a theatre consultant/project manager, I can now contribute to creating that myself.”
“I ended up in the theatre world by coincidence; that’s where my love for the performing arts was awakened—and it will never fade. Over the years, I’ve developed a broad skill set: set construction, lighting, sound, video, technical production, stage management. Small events, large events; from living‑room concerts to stadium tours. Yet every time, it comes down to the same analysis: what do we want to achieve, how can we best achieve it, and preferably in an enjoyable way. I quickly discovered that repetitive routine doesn’t suit me. At Theateradvies, I’ve found the variety that fits me perfectly.”
